Looking at My Feet
Within the hour we will be leaving for the airport. It is hard to believe that less than two weeks ago, I was just returning from a magificient mini getaway with my honey. What a wonderful trip we had. Today, my daughter and I will board a plane taking us to NIH (National Institute of Health) where we will meet with a team of doctors to discuss her prognosis. Wow! How did we get from there to here?
Just last week, during a routine exam, my daughter was told that after 13 years, it appears that the cancer is growing in her brain. As many of you know, when you get news like that, you just don't know how to progress...how to think...how to act...and how to walk.
When I am out walking, and trying to make it up a hill, I have developed a habit of keeping my eyes and my focus directly on my feet. If I keep looking at my feet, and not the top of the hill, or how far away it is, I find that I make it up the hill just fine.
It seems to me that this might just be the way we walk through the trials and tribulations in our lives too. We have to just keep our focus on making it through one step at a time. I just keep looking at my feet and walking.
After all, in all of my study, and all my experience (such as it is), I have only ever found two options to facing a trial. 1) Give up. Sit down. Deny that there are miracles and that God loves you and has a plan to carry you through. or 2) Keep walking. Having done all, stand. Believe that the God who created the universe and all its beauty, loves you, and has a plan for you...a plan for good and not for evil.
In case you are wondering how we are making it through these days of not knowing what is next...we've chosen option 2. We are walking. I just keep looking at my feet and focusing on His Word: He is a light to my feet...He leads and guides me...He prepares a way for me to walk...He will not leave me...and He makes my feet like hinds feet...able to make progress on the steep slopes of difficulty!
If its hilly around your house...Look at your feet...You'll make it to the top just fine!

Spending time with the Father talking about you and Charissa. He does love you both so! Keep the faith - as you are doing - knowing this situation is a wart to HIM. Brain cancer die in the name of Jesus. All infirmity go! Strength, life, peace, and hope to Charissa. Standing with you as we look for more than we could ask or imagine.....
I just wanted you to know that I have been praying for you and will continue to do so. We don't always understand all that happens to us but we can trust in the One who does. He is faithful. I will continue to pray for you and your family.
Blessings,
